This is her packed for a week with her family. I've been informed that there are non-wool objects under the wool. I am not convinced.

OK, any cats might have a problem, since they can't get at it, but I suspect there's a ball of yarn somewhere in your house that a cat could use.

The one time I traveled with insufficient knitting was the worst in-laws visit of my life. Too much is really a better answer.
