OK, so Lothian buses introduces an Oyster card that's not as good as Oyster was when I lived in London? That was 8 years ago.

Yesterday, for the first time, I used my eticketing app to buy a day pas for First West Yorkshire on my phone. Bit of a faff to setup, but a day pass that displays on my phone screen is a wonderful thing, in theory, even if I worry about it in practice (getting home on 10% battery is fine, getting to the busstop on less than that and needing it is not fine).

What is the point of a top up card that only lets you top up at certain annoying points and doesn't have a daily cap? Weird.

Read the rest of the thing. Oyster, like I said 8 years ago, let me top up or buy passes to put on it not only online, but also in my corner shop and pretty much every convenience store in London, as well as every ticket booth all over the place. Setting up a chain of dedicated booths when you have PayPoint and similar offering their services everywhere is daft.
