A couple of weeks ago we cleaned out under the bed, found mounds of dust, several boxes of stuff that we threw out, and a short cable for our Virgin cable internet/TV/phone.

This afternoon, I got around to unplugging all of the router stuff that was living under the bed and moving it into the living room, thus removing the various flashing lights from the bedroom. Admittedly, said flashing lights had largely been under the bed, but it still makes me happy to get them out of there. Now the only electronic device permanently based in the bedroom is the phone base station (which can't be easily moved without getting Virgin to come round and run a new wire).

A quick test afterwards shows that we still have Wifi to the whole flat, and that the network-over-power-lines stuff is still working fine, giving me 18Mbps down and 2 Mbps up. Somewhere between May and August that will apparently become 60Mbps down, 6Mbps up. Not sure what I'm going to do with that, I'm sure something will crop up...
