I would like to say I'm a mix of Reasonable Actor and True Reasonable, but in reality I'm a mix of Reasonable Actor and True Gamer*, that therefore sometimes comes across as True Reasonable.

* Which is to say I like playing my character AND I like power-ups and XP, heh.

Ah, Batman as Randian Jesus. Yes. I guess I sort of expect any Batman movie that's true to the spirit of the character will be one long self-righteous Libertarion Wank. 'Tis the price we pay.

I wonder if there's ever been an essay on the prevalent politics of DC vs Marvel. I think it might be interesting, particularly in the context of the last decade-or-so's film franchises...

I don't really disagree with any of the political observations; but I do disagree that it's a badly made film. I was pretty wrapped up in it and didn't notice a lot of its more irritating points until after the fact.

I shared the irritation that we didn't see the real people of Gotham and how they were living under Bane's rule, but it was a reeeeally long film. I think at that point you'd've had to cut it in half and show it in two parts.

Yup, I pretty much agree with all of that.

I suspect Marvel's politics skew more liberal, but I'm not enough of an expert to give a definitive answer.
