So, we watched the first episode of Girls

It's clearly an HBO show.

The script was very well put together, I didn't like any of the characters, and I really want to know what happens next.

It stays interesting.

I like that the main character is a woman with a normal human body and isn't given shit about it.

I wasn't sure whether I liked it for the first 4 episodes or so, I similarly didn't like the characters but was hooked enough to keep watching. They all grew on me, so that by the end of the series, I did care. Not that I think caring about the characters is necessary to a good piece of TV, but I was intrigued by the way that I did, gradually, like them more.
