I filled in the Scottish Government's consultation, which closed at the end of last year. Then went out and persuaded lots of others to fill it in, too.

The English one is irrelevant to me, except that if they don't go for it and Scotland does, it'll be good news for Gretna!

I also filled in the Scottish one (and encouraged people to do likewise at the time). I'm looking forward to the results, and presumed law change.

The English one is relevant to me, insofar as I care about the rights of people in England.

I got a response from David McLetchie MSP. My understanding of it is that he doesn't view LGBT people as fully human so they don't deserve the same rights to proper marriage as heterosexuals. I don't like him and may have told him what his response told me about his feelings towards LGBT people.

I'm not sure if that is better or worse than my Tory MSP who wrote back making noises about respecting other people's views without in any way whatsoever expressing an opinion, and whose underlying message appeared to be 'I'll vote according to my conscience which is none of your business'...
