Date: 2012-05-16 12:16 pm (UTC)Android's strength, on the other hand, is its openness, and that any manufacturer can put something together that's different to all the rest, and fits a specific niche. I'd never have expected the Galaxy Note to be successful, for instance, as it falls between phone and tablet. Samsung have sold five million of them though, so there are clearly people out there that want that. But those sales aren't big enough for Apple to go after - certainly not enough to make it worth putting in the effort that Apple need to in order to produce a product as smooth as they do.

Pete from Mythic Beasts is in my kitchen, threatening to steal Mooncake (who is on his knee, the traitor) if we don't give him a Raspi.
7 May Raspberry Pi Raspberry Pi @Raspberry_Pi
Pete *is* intending to use it as Raspberry Pi's backup web server, so we have decided not to sacrifice Mooncake.
For reference, Mooncake is one of Eben and Liz's cats.
