A little harsh on Edison. No doubt Tesla was the greater theoretical intellect, but he couldn't match Edison's practicality. It was Westinghouse and others that brought Tesla's ideas to the market. Without entrepreneurs like Westinghouse and Edison we'd still be living in the dark. A little like Xerox vs Jobs - great ideas need great entrepreneurs or else they never see the light of day.

Indeed, and people keep repeating proven-incorrect statements about Tesla, which makes it hard to know how many other statements are fanciful.

one guy on a Lifehacker thread argued that lack of Android-style fragmentation was hurting Apple's iOS business.

my response was probably a bit too harsh. It got a lot of +1's, though.

that chart really is fascinating. having only used one Android handset [a heavily modified SII], I have no real concept of what it means in the practical sense

I'm still gutted I didn't pre-order a PI machine. I'd love to use one.

I've absolutely no idea I'm afraid.

I signed up on the two UK distributors sites, but I've not heard a thing.

This is how I got mine (c.f. the Raspberry_Pi twitter feed (http://twitter.com/#!/Raspberry_Pi)),

7 May Raspberry Pi Raspberry Pi ‏@Raspberry_Pi

Pete from Mythic Beasts is in my kitchen, threatening to steal Mooncake (who is on his knee, the traitor) if we don't give him a Raspi.

Pete *is* intending to use it as Raspberry Pi's backup web server, so we have decided not to sacrifice Mooncake.

For reference, Mooncake is one of Eben and Liz's cats.
