Bizarrely I feel closer to my chronological age now than any previous time in my life. (When I was a kid I always felt older and when I became an adult I felt younger, but now I pretty much feel like 'just about to stop being a Young Adult'.)

I'm 34, feeling slightly younger. I went 31 because I *really* like being in my 30s and wouldn't go lower.
In a very real sense, though, I feel early 20's. I'm in the first home that feels 'mine', in a Degree that I should have entered straight from school, and seeing a delightfully Lady that could be best described as 'younger'.

I could disregard much of the last 15 years [except the whole having a Daughter bit, which is far beyond completely wonderful] and not really lose much.

Is the first question meant to have a random selection of numbers? Is it an age question? If it is, I don't feel any of those numbers but they seem a little arbitrary.

Yes, I got faintly confused by the first question. It took me a few readings to even think of the possibility that it might mean age, let alone decide it was the most likely interpretation!

I think I confused myself by expecting the list to contain adjectives, and was sufficiently thrown by seeing numbers instead that I didn't manage to adjust immediately.

(Perhaps the drop-down should have instead contained "happy", "sleepy", "grumpy", ...)

LJ's "Scale" option won't allow more than 20 options, so 10-70 in jumps of 3 seemed to fit best.

Hey that drink question is severely flawed for the non drinkers too. I definitely drink less than once a week but that could imply 2-3 drinks per month. However I don't think I coiuld honestly say not at all, as I may have a drink a couple of times a year.

I totally forgot to do the age bit. I am 40 but in some ways feel about 14. Overall??? I really dunno - I have no preconceptions of what it feels like to be an age older than I am, and no really detailed memories of ages younger than I am (my memory [and imagination] appear(s) to be very much less emotionally-associative than most people's, so it's a really hard question for me to answer)

Age bit, once I realised what it was, made me understand I don't know the answer. My default is to say I'm prematurely middle aged, but given my ability to act like a kid I suppose I might just even out at about my chronological age (mid 30s).

I don't drink, except when I do - a unit or two maybe every 3 or 4 months. Watching Snowtown at the weekend left me feeling the need for booze in a way that the holiday season never did.

The cool thing about getting older is realising again and again that being age X isn't as bad as you thought it would be. The tricky part is remembering to apply that logic to the years to come as well.

Also: you know a lot of non-drinkers!

Sorry, I didn't realize until after I picked a random number. Without any context, I assumed it was as sort of 'How good do you feel? 8 out of 10' and upon seeing weird numbers went 'eh... random!'

My problem with drink is that it takes me about 4 nights to get through a bottle of wine if I'm on my own. So often on days that could be dry I've got booze that needs drinking...

I drink a glass of wine with dinner every day, except Wednesday when my schedule means I eat dinner on the train en-route to rock climbing. I'm not sure how useful it is to compress "the amount you can safely drink in a week" into fewer days, that seems likely to lead to more binge drinking to me...
