Date: 2012-04-12 01:14 pm (UTC)I guess we'd have to know how many people were found "fit for work" to know if this was an unusually high number anyway.
Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Jail for Selling Fake 'Frankenstein' Posters
Headline looks like miscarriage of justice and a really harsh sentence. The alternative headline "Man sentenced to 6 years in Jail for $1.3 million fraud" looks like justice and a fairly reasonable sentence.

Date: 2012-04-12 08:14 pm (UTC)... and from TFA, it seems this is 1,000 people put in the 'Work-Related Activity' category, which is not the same as 'fit for work'. Admittedly the Mail has previous in conflating these two.
Man sentenced to 6 years in Jail for $1.3 million fraud
That was exactly what I thought! It did work to make me look though, in a way this alternative headline wouldn't have. :-)
