“If Twitter is beating the wire, the wire is not doing its job, assuming that Twitter information is accurate

The underlined part is, for me, the sticky point. Twitter is faster because there's no fact-checking; it's just too easy to get bad information.

-- Steve considers Tweets as gossip and conversation, not reportage, unless backed by something more substantial.

The presentation on the election was really interesting.

Also it was nice to see Gregor again.

He seemed well but then he was always a really positive guy. He's working for Neil Bibby as his researcher. I get the impression that they are both working quite hard and trying to learn the ropes quickly.

He's also working in Paisley and Edinburgh and living in Glasgow still so he's putting in lots of communting time. I'm going to try and get out for a coffee or a pint and a catch up with him next week.

He's a "good guy"*

One of the nicest things about my involvment in the AV campaign was being able to write him a good reference afterwards.

*applying the definition of a "good guy" used by my dad's old boss Al, a Chicago Italian with just a hint of the other more famous Chicago Italian Al.
