Mmm, reinforced sexist stereotypes in the service of some of the worst coffee imaginable. Sexeh.

Well, yes, it set itself up as one thing (an advertising cliché involving a sexist stereotype) and then played against (which is still reinforcing) a different sexist stereotype.

...and yes, the coffee is pretty appalling.

Sigh.

Crucially, why is the coffee cup, in all three ads, blatantly empty? Watch them again if you didn't spot it the first time.

yup, I'm with the "cr@p stereotype supplanted by another just as cr@p stereotype" notion.

In fact, I think I find the set of sexist stereotyping that they *actually* do I find even more annoying that the notion of just using a man's actual sex-appeal to try to sell me something. At least woiuld have acknowledged that I have a sex drive by which I might possibly be swayed, rather than reinforcing the notion that women are not really all that interested in that sort of thing all that much and would FAR rather have petty domestic stuff sorted out....

Sorry guys, I'd rather fuck

ok, I read it as they were saying "we aren't doing the obvious cheesy sexy-bloke coffee-ad, we know what you *really* want/like"...
