The lesson of that music story is "Don't fuck with Rob Zombie."

Which, really, should be obvious.

Also, I think we need to send Buck Angel to Sweden to beat some sense into the legislators.

Edinburgh would have a semi decent music festival if Murrayfield had remotely decent transport links.

Murrayfield is a size up (70,000 tickets) rather than the Arena sized venue (10-15,000 tickets) that is being proposed.

And Murrayfield is easier to get to by public transport than Hampden or Parkhead.

Ah, right, I had no idea what sort of sizes music venues are. I just knew that my mum had been to concerts at Murrayfield and Hampden and suchlike.

Yeah, my mum went to that concert. Even though she was in the cheaper high up seats, apparently it was brilliant, the design of the stage, everybody had a good view.

Meadowbank had hosted very few concerts over the years - it has some sort of licencing issue as well as lack of staff - also they have to close facilities during use so the gym gets closed - there's some sort of law governing the availability of council facilities to the public so events outwith the planned sporting calendar are few.

Murrayfield also used to host far more concerts before the Oasis Standing on the Shoulders tour in 2000 where their fans totally trashed the streets and gardens surrounding Murrayfield - at that point the council vowed never to let Oasis play there again and to keep a stricter hand on licencing for gigs. For some reason they let them back in 2009 and there was a repeat performance - this time far more violent. I'm an Oasis fan and was at both gigs and saddened by the bahaviour of the fans. I've also seen Robbie Williams and U2 several times at Murrayfield but you are looking at bands of that stature to fill it - there's a decreasing lists these days as the price of tickets seems to have ballooned.

The Playhouse is pretty much musical central nowadays and is lost as one of the best concert venues of yesteryear. I also have no idea why they stopped staging gigs in Ingliston Exhibition Hall - I saw Pulp, Blur, Oasis and M People there many years ago. Edinburgh is extremely lacking in venues for concerts. Glasgow has taken over the market with the bigger venues like the SECC and the small intimate places - I've been to far more gigs in the Garage latterly than in Edinburgh. I welcomed the reopening of the Liquid Rooms and quite enjoy the occasional gigs at Cabaret Voltaire.

As to a new concert hall at INGLISTON - that's surely driven by the trams! They will make it easily accessible but is the only positive thing I can think as to the location. The road to Ingliston is a nightmare to drive between 5 and 7 at night - it will be twice as bad if there's a concert and cause chaos for air travellers. The waterfront at Leith would have been a far more logical location!

Undecided whether I welcome the news of a venue or not!

Yes, the costs of the big concerts is getting silly. Some people were spending £300 a ticket for the Bon Jovi one, just to get to stand closer to the front. I guess it's that ever increasing gap between rich and poor in this country.

Not sure we'll ever see the tram finished though, so, I doubt this location will happen.

But they also showed that the increase in risk was only 1.22-fold in physically active carriers, compared with 1.30-fold for carriers who were physically inactive – a 27% reduction.

This is from the article about exercise and the obesity gene. I can't make sense of the numbers. Is there a log in there someplace?
