24th June 2014 is a Tuesday, not a Thursday, but it's still too close for comfort: the Nats won't be able to call a referendum two days after the celebration of the battle of Bannockburn without opposition parties justifiably calling foul.

I mean, yes, Thatcher promising not to campaign on the Falklands War and then having herself photographer in front of the biggest Union Jack ever, but still.
