andrewducker: (how awesome I am)

Five years after I reposted three jokes from Slashdot in my journal it turns out that it's _still_ getting hits (about 200 per month) because it got tagged on StumbleUpon.

In fact, looking at my Google Analytics, it seems that it's been known to get up to 45 hits _per day_. For three jokes that I stole from an article that I don't even seem to have linked to.

Sometimes the internet baffles me. I'm tempted to put a "hello!" on that page, but I'm not convinced I should tamper with greatness...

They're good jokes, with the best last. That is enough!

You told the jokes better than other random pages?

Assuage your consciousness and link to the original Slashdot article.

And now that you've made this post, even more people are going to click through so they can see what the jokes are!

The most read/linked stuff on the BBC keeps having that "no srsly hotmail isn't going to be a paid site" from years ago show up. iirc, they had a magazine article explaining why.
