The thing that gets to me is that the job that those lawyers are doing could easily be done by a group like CAB, if they were better funded. And that would probably be a cheaper way of doing things than paying lawyers for it.

... if they were better funded and much better trained - when my partner worked for DWP they were always getting people phoning up who had been given incorrect information about their benefits entitlement by CAB :(

And where by removing this 'free raw material', we make the impact of cutting down the rainforest (on carbon emissions and therefore climate change) even worse by reducing tree litter returning organic matter to the soil. Okay, so it is a very small contribution (~4 % for places like Malaysia) compared with the biomass loss but it still adds up.

(sorry, pet topic, I'm calculating these emissions for work right now)
