Actually, I wish the Cumbrian chap had shot a lot of illegal immigrants while wearing a BNP badge, scattering BNP leaflets and shouting BNP slogans. Perhaps while standing for a council seat.

I fear that in that case his actions may have been applauded by many BNP supporters. "Finally someone doing something about the problem". "If you shouldn't be here you deserve what you get" sort of remarks.

Very possibly, but I'd love to see the tortured 'Well, it's not right to shoot innocents but...' arguments it'd throw up.

Plus, as an optimist, I'd hope some people on the fence who just want those forriners to go home would be appalled.

Just after the 2001 election, I went to a tournament in Birmingham. Organiser and I were chatting (first time we'd met, but knoen online for years), he was talking about his (very smart) boss.

Who hadn't voted.

"Didn't need to vote this time, you only go to vote to get them out, right, and I'm happy with this lot"

Guy's a senior manager, with a decent degree. Scary.

I live near Google's corporate headquarters, and they've rented/bought so many of the office buildings in the area that we know call it "Googleville."

FYI - There's a military base nearby and Serge and Brin get to park their private plane there. The military's explanation? "Google does a lot of work for the defense department."

I don't care about the plane, but Google doing defense work creeps me out almost as much as Blackwater (Xe Services) doing intelligence gathering and processing for the American government.
