See, I knew Ecclescake left because he really couldn't stand working with Rusty, but I didn't know the BBC had apologised to him for the 'typecast' statement, I had thought that was merely the agreed excuse, daft as it is.

Nothing concrete, it was ages back, SB might remember more, but basically from what I remember (and therefore this might not be accurate), Rusty is a PITA to work with, especially if you're fairly strong willed.

I think that pretty much shows in later Tennant anyway, Rusty thnks everything he did was marvellous, most of us see a big pile of missed opportunitues, and Ecclestone didn't like working with someone who'd bought into his own publicity material.

That was one of the main reasons why a "two doctors" style thing wasn't going to happen; maybe it will now with Moff, doubt it though.

Eccleston had worked with Davies before, on The Second Coming, and had specifically requested to be considered for the lead role in Doctor Who on the strength of Davies' involvement. So I don't really understand why he would suddenly have a problem working with Davies.
