Date: 2010-05-07 11:00 pm (UTC)It seems to me that the upshot is: The British people don't really trust any of the three major parties, (for good reason,) and the vote result shows they hope these people will find a way to work together to solve Britain's deep problems.
Even with this recent result, I still admire your political system. The two-party-winner-take-all approach here in America has led to divisiveness among the citizens, and we know our system is hopelessly corrupt and too heavily influenced by large corporations and their lobbyists.
I believe that we need to "destroy" our current system, (both at the federal level and here in California,) and replace it with a type of parliamentary system similar to yours, but hopefully more progressive in its inception.
