Dec. 16th, 2008 02:11 pmWhy are there not multitouch trackpads available to buy? You'd think that after the fuss made over various multitouch bits of kit you'd be able to buy something like that. It's not as if they have to be expensive - The Eee-900 has one!

The areas pinpointed by researchers were mainly those formerly dominated by heavy industry, often in the north of England.
However there were also clusters of neighbourhoods in isolated rural areas of East Anglia and the west country.
But the researchers did find higher levels of aspirations among young people living in ethnically diverse, mobile, urban neighbourhoods. -
The shared service centre in Swansea had been intended to cost £55m but make £112m in savings - which would have given an overall cut of £57m. Instead, the latest estimates show that the programme will cost £121m and save just £40m, leaving taxpayers with a bill of £81m.

The findings fit nicely with a large, growing body of literature describing a generalized reward and aversion system in the brain, and put this intellectual construct of love directly onto the same axis as homeostatic rewards such as food, warmth, craving for drugs.
