In case your timbers need a'shivering
Jun. 11th, 2007 01:19 amI was rather sceptical when
tisme told me last week that there was a porn "homage" to Pirates of the Caribbean that had an actual budget, sets and special effects.
So I went googling. And was surprised by the trailer here. Okay, so it's "acting" rather than acting, but it looks like they made an actual _movie_. Almost entirely unheard of. And there's even an R-rated version for those people that like their porn without porn in it. What _is_ the world coming to?

Couldn't do worse
Jun. 11th, 2007 01:22 amScotland Sucks (ok, actual headline "Scotland is worse small country", but mine is punchier).
The prettiness, it burns!
Jun. 11th, 2007 09:49 amVarious people have mentioned PhotoSynth to me, but I hadn't got around to it, on the grounds that I'm a jaded near-dead sort (cf previous birthday post) and thus no longer excited by technology.
Only I then got around to taking a look, and good Lord it's pretty. It takes a bunch of photos, works out what the original 3D scene looked like and then allows you to zoom about the 3D space checking out individual photos
Incredible use of technology - and one I can actually see being useful in the future rather than just a pretty tech demo.

Social categorisation for beginners
Jun. 11th, 2007 01:17 pm1.) People who don't grok social cues = Asperger's Syndrome
2.) People who see, yet choose not to acknowledge social cues = Quite possibly Sociopathic
3.) People who only use social "cues" (hints) to communicate = Passive Aggressive
