Spent the day playing with Notes/Java, eventually discovering that the reason nothing was working was that the version of Ntoes we have comes with Java 1.1.8 and that I needed 1.2.2 at least. I persuaded the Desktop team to give me access to the most recent version of Notes, which suddenly made everything work fine.
Then came home and did some work on VFP, finally getting to use Outer Joins for something useful. I couldn't work out exactly why my (old) code was doing what it was doing, but I managed to add in the necessary changes without breaking anything, so I'm not going to worry too much. The system's being scrapped in 6 months, so it just has to hang together that long.
And now to bed!
