Once upon a time there was a lawyer who was courageous, kind, and always sad that she'd missed the '60s by being in middle school instead of college. She did volunteer work for Planned Parenthood and the ACLU in her spare time, and at her job helped people prepare for changes in their lives by walking them gently through the difficult yet important steps of writing wills and living wills, setting up trust funds, and signing Do Not Resuscitate orders to physicians. She was a very good lawyer.

One day, the lawyer's elder daughter told the lawyer that she (the daughter) was gay. The lawyer was concerned for her daughter for many reasons, and was a little uncertain about how to handle things for a while, but continued to be as loving and accepting as she knew how to be.

Got out of work at 7:25. Three weeks ago my flexi-time was negative. Today it's at 19 hours. When I hit 21 hours it maxes out and I have to start charging it through as overtime...
