Bigger, Longer and Uncut
Dec. 18th, 2002 02:47 pmI'm sure I've mentioned that I've got FOTR Extended Edition. I haven't mentioned how much better it is.
Simply by adding a few seconds here and there in the film they've made it eminently clearer. I didn't like the original hobbiton arrival very much, but I'm a big fan of the new one, and similarly the LothLorien sequence is vastly improved also (I can't believe they left out the gift giving sequence from the original cut).
Basically, I'd rather the original FOTR as an 8.5 and the extended edition a 10.

Dec. 18th, 2002 10:28 pmLaurel Canyon has a fab cast and is about people doing people things. Looks entrancing.
X (Men) 2 will undoubtably be a blast, especially if you liked the first one, which I did.
T3 will not be anywhere near as good as the two previous Terminator movies, but still looks like fun on an epic scale, which is what I like.
Bruce Almighty looks good too. Some nice ideas, the omniwonderful Jime Carrey, the omnirespectable Morgan Freeman and the omnicute Jennifer Aniston all in the same place at the same time. Oh, and a plot I haven't actually seen recently, either. Marvellous.
