This Morning's Computer stuff
Sep. 14th, 2002 11:08 amSpent half of yesterday on trains, returning to Scotland from England. I wrote something, but it's waiting to be tidied before I post it (and it's probably going to kuro5hin, not here.
Anyway, this morning has largely been spent installing the new Nvidia graphics card (complete with 2 VGA outputs, so I now have two monitors running, wahey!). The drivers aren't quite right yet, but I'm installing XP SP1 first, and to be honest I'm not surprised they aren't running properly, considering how hacked about my XP install is (I installed Win2k about 3 years ago, spent 2 years mangling it and then installed WinXP over that rather than do a fresh install. Ick! Ick!).
Anyway, tip for you this morning, go to www.spampal.org.uk and download the program you;ll find there. It tags emails as spam if they originate from known spammer servers. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good and I'm filtering about 95% of my spam into a seperate folder. It's got whitelists and blacklists, so you can add your friends to it if you need to. Well worth a look.
