More on Iraq, I'm afraid. I've realised why I'm conflicted. I feel that
a)Saddam Hussein should not be ruling Iraq.
b)George Bush is completely untrustworthy.

This leaves me defending peaceful methods against Adam (who believes that war is the answer to everything) and invasion against Gordon (who believes that if America wants it, it must be wrong).

Thankfully, there's a fantastic article here which explains why the US has no friends at the moment. And it's largely down to Bush being unilateralist.

FOR MORE THAN 25 years he has sought to acquire chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, and has, in several documented cases, succeeded. He gassed 60,000 of his own people in 1986 in Halabja. He has launched two catastrophic wars, sacrificing nearly a million Iraqis and killing or wounding more than a million Iranians. He has flouted 16 United Nations resolutions over 12 years that have warned him to disarm or else, including one, four months ago, giving him a “final opportunity” to do so “fully and immediately” or face “serious consequences.” But in its campaign against Iraq, America is virtually alone. Never will it have waged a war in such isolation. Never have so many of its allies been so firmly opposed to its policies. Never has it provoked so much public opposition, resentment and mistrust. And all this before the first shot has been fired.

it seems most of the world doesn't like us, aka Americans.
I have nothing against "Americans". I have a lot against the way that the current administration treats other countries, expecting them to fall into line behind it.

I know that some people are anti-american, but generally speaking I think that most people are live and let live.

On a related note, buy "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore. Very much worth reading so that you can get an idea of what the changes in foreign policy under Bush have beeen like. He poitns out that Clinton pulled off similar things to what Bush is doing in Yugoslavia and Haiti and nobody really worried that much, ebcause Clinton was a good diplomat and friendly with the international community.
