Why did no one tell me what happened if you typed "about:robots" into the address bar in firefox?

Next you should Google "recursion." ;>

PS -- this was completely new to me as well, and very amusing.

Heh. Fun.
Now could the geeks get on and fix the damn memory leaks? And that bloody stupid 'Offline mode' bug?

I just tried it!

And then I remembered I use Opera on this netbook... d'oh!

Still, it took me to Google and showed me a screen dump.

I do like their sense of humour.

Wow.

Memory leaks: after 5-6 hours of work my Firefox can sometimes decide it wants 100% of CPU and fuck knows how much memory. Now I do chuck a lot at it (5-6 windows, sometimes a dozen tabs each) but it's still not on.

As for the offline bug, it's maybe because you don't do any localhost work. If FF has no connection to the internet, it switches itself into 'Offline mode' (which is largely pointless anyway) and then won't even browse localhost sites.
What is even more irritating and really bad UI is that it says 'You can't go to this site because you are in offline mode. To leave offline mode, please do untick it in the menu'.

Maybe... do you have Firebug? I expect all my colleagues use it as a matter of course and we all grumble about FF being a resource hog.

It has done for years, if not more than a decade! I remember being impressed by this at Uni when I was mucking about with extentions.
