I spent an hour playing Star Guard from beginning to end.

It's a great fun old school platform shooter:

And well worth your time if you like that kind of thing.

The absolute best part of it is that there's no limit on the number of times you can die - your score won't be as high, but at no point will the game pointlessly send you back to the beginning of the level because you failed to achieve something.

Having said that, the end of game bad buy is an utter bastard, and I died 123 times before I worked out how to kill him.  Still, the game up to that point is addictively fun.

So I'm to defeat a wizard, but what's the reward? In a word, the girl? Also, do we know for sure the wizard is evil?

I used my e-meter on him. Guaranteed 94% evil.

Sit in the corner below him until he drops down, shoot him in the back. Stand in the middle as he jumps, then walk into the corner as he trails the 3 shots towards you. You're now in the corner again, repeat until he floats.

When he floats, go to the opposite site and shoot down the reds projectiles. He'll land, jump over his head (jump early) and tuck into the corner. Repeat.

After that it's all easy because there are loads of restart points. :)

That was pretty much how I got him - except I didn't shoot the projectiles, I stood by the edge and then jumped up leaving them to crash into the wall.
