I sometimes wonder how much subconscious thinking goes on as you procrastinate. I imagine it's more than you think. Sometimes it takes time for your head to get around a subject and your brain might need time to subsume it.

There's been times that I've procrastinated about a problem I'm not sure how to solve, then gone back to it and jumped right on it enthusiastically without doing any additional conscious thinking.

oh yeah. No use forcing the brain when it's really stuck. Go away and do something else for a while and it'll come to you the next day. Usually at 4/5am for me....

I think you have, but it's so relevant to my life that I think re-posting as many times as possible is a great way to remind me hehe.

Drill? Pshaw! Lay a great big bonfire around the stone, burn for six or seven hours, then turn a hose on it. No more monolith.*

*So maybe red-hot spall fragments destroy everything within several metres, but no more monolith.**
