Season 2 of Dollhouse appears to be continuing season 1's trend where it is capable of two kinds of scenes: scenes that are good and scenes that have Eliza Dushku in them.
The first episode has a great cast, is very well directed, and has a wow factor. It's got a lot of potential. I just hope the series carries through, resulting in a LOST, not a DEAD ZONE.
Wow, we have vastly different tastes. I found Lost to be unwatchable, and I loved the first 3 seasons of The Dead Zone (although it definitely went a bit downhill in 4 and nose-dived in 5 & 6)
Dollhouse was shockingly good. I thought 80% of last season was utterly wretched, with improvement near the end, that was utterly destroyed by making Alpha an exceptionally stereotypical cackling serial killer. So, I wasn't expecting very much, and this episode was excellent. Of course, much of the excellence is due to the fact that Eliza Dushku still can't act her way out of a paper bag, and this episode mostly involved interactions of other far more interesting characters, with vastly better actors. My vote is shockingly worth watching. Also, have you seen the unaired 13th episode of last season?
Flashforward was far more interesting than it was good. The plot is compelling, although the fact that the people who did Lost were involved makes me fear Gilligan's Island syndrome (ie real answers or solutions can ever be found or the show ends), and the acting and characters were definitely not up to the plot. Of course, it's a first episode, and a number of shows have gotten substantially better as the actors adjusted to their characters. My vote is trashy but minorly interesting
