I'm currently trying to resist ordering the Absolute edition of Promethea - on the grounds that the art is absolutely amazingly gorgeous, and thus will look even better on large high quality paper.

I may wait until it appears and then see whether anyone I know picks up a copy and reviews it...

Boo! It's not the complete run, just the first 12 issues :-(

They're doing it as a series. HOWEVER, I've read in a number of places, including I think Williams' own blog, that they've abandoned the original idea of turning the book sideways because of all the double-page spreads. As a result, bits of the art disappear in the crease between the pages... I'm sticking with the trades I've got...

I can see the appeal of Absolute Sandman - it's not just bigger on better-quality paper, they've cleaned up a lot of the original colouring problems from the days when cheap bulk colour printing was still a black art. Absolute Promethea? The trade paperbacks are already gorgeous. Absolute Sandman is like upgrading from VHS to Blu-Ray; Promethea is like upgrading from DVD.
