It depends how you define "pointless drama". Seems a bit merciless to me.

I think it comes down to the difference between people who deliberately create pointless drama (bad) and people who get caught up in pointless drama because they're trying to do the right thing, or didn't realise what they were letting themselves in for (not nearly so bad).

I've certainly been caught up in enough drama in my time - but I don't think I've ever tried to create drama for its own sake.

Again I think life's too grey and complicated to completely go with this statement. I think a mature approach allows you to withstand 'drama' without cutting people off because they don't deal with life the way you want them to.

That's my undramatic and mature two cents anyway. :P

Excellent point.

I think that at my age I'm just "over it" about so many issues that were burning issues when I was much younger. I feel this especially as the child launches and the house is larger and quieter. I value that quiet more now and I think that, of all things, is what's made me withdraw from the agonized thrashings of people who keep making themselves unhappy in the same way again and again.

Drama makes me tired.
