Superheros and economics generally don't seem to engage with one another, except in The Watchmen or things like Luke Cage and Iron Fist: Heroes for Hire.

I've always wondered why the Taskmaster, a Marvel character who can learn to imitate anyone's non-superhuman abilities merely by observing them didn't give up supervillainy and become a guitar player, baseball player etc.

Away from comics the film Speed is another example: someone once did a cost-benefit analysis of paying the Dennis Hopper character off versus the destruction of all those things exploding, such that Speed II should have been This Time we Negotiate...
