I have an Orange phone contract.  I've been noticing that my main cost on it each month is from going over the data tarrif.

So today I called them up to see what I could do about it, and discovered that my data tarrif is an immensely old one - 10MB a month for £7.50 and that the new one gives you 250MB a month for £7.50.  But, of course, they don't switch you over unless you phone up to complain.

Oh, and I was also paying £5 a month for free weekend calls.  When I don't use all of my inclusive minutes as it is.

So that should save me about £25 a month.

Me too

I found that with them, I ring every few months to get cool stuff added...

but I also have a 6 monthly text from them to tell me if they can do better for me.. I duno how i subscribed to the text, but its usefull even ifr it reminds me to ring and ask for new stuff!

also, if you complain enough, I recon you'd get a few months of that over paid fee back..

Woah!! You are still getting ripped off! I average about 600 - 700 MB a month and I'd not say I'm that heavy a user on my data - pretty much retrieve emails and a wee bit of facebook checking every day, I have what O2 call 'Unlimited' Web for £7.34 a month, their definition of unlimited is about 1GB a month/35MB a day. If you regularly exceed this they fire a text warning you that you're being excessive and to curtail your surfing a little. SO I reckon Orange are bending you over and raping you backwards! Do you know how much data you use in the average month? Don't fall for security and think you're all free as I don't think my phone surfing can be much more than yours.

Gah, correcting myself as I got totally mixed up thanks to O2 quoting their measures in Kb!! I fail at geekiness. last month I used 32Mb - that was on my N95 though, I suspect a significant increase in my next bill although I'm now on iPhone unlimited!
