I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that 80-90% of people in the USA drink caffeine every day.

I mostly cut it out of my diet a while back, and find that I sleep better and am happier since then, but I haven't been a major user since I realised it was taking three cups of coffee to get me going in the morning and quit overnight (the headache lasted about four days).

Caffeine doesn't really help me wake up/stay awake. Drinking something will help me wake up, but that can be almost anything.

I'm one of those weird folk who adore the smell of good coffee brewing but can't abide the taste of it (any variety - I've tried a few different sorts, and they're all complete ick). I love a good black tea (most breakfast varieties especially, yummmmmmm) but not for the caffeine. I've tried 'em with & without, and can't tell much difference for the caff itself. Most of the sodas I drink are caffeine free, actually, unless I'm getting something at a restaurant or convenience store.

Of course, chocolate is the gods' food, so I must have my choccie! ;) But it's not required every day. I do notice that if I go several days without any caffeine at all (no choc, no sodas/tea, etc), I will develop a slight headache but nothing major. And it usually takes almost a week before I notice anything at all. *shrug*
