So far I've got up, had breakfast, gone for a walk on the moors (damn  cold up there, my ears went all red), then a bite of lunch, and everyone is spread around various sofas, snoring or reading comics.

So a couple of hours of testing text editors seems to be in order...

yeah, it depends what you want to do really.
I like the keyboard macro recording, and the regular expression based search and replace. Both dead handy for cleaning up large data sets and debug output.
The etags extension is dead handy for navigating around C code too, but not much use if your not coding in C.

The shift+return rectangular select can be a godsend sometimes.
Say when you want to add the same string to the beginning of 50 lines at once.
