Livejournal Decision

A week ago I posted about LJ, and friends lists, and the like, and my uncertainty over what to do with them.

And I've decided that my friends list is part reading list, part people I'd like to be able to read my locked posts and part people I just don't want to lose touch with.

And so I'm unfriending nobody.

Some of you don't get read much, and that's sad, but it's life. You're being kept because some day we might find ourselves in the same city, and it'd be cool to see you if we were. This is basically how I use FB - as a collection of people I know or have known, and might one day want to get in touch with again.

In real life, friends come in many flavours of closeness and intensity, I shall try to remember that this is also the case with livejournal.

Out of curiosity, why did you share this with us? I don't ask in a confrontational or irritated or snarky tone, I'm just curious as your reasoning, as the entirety of your decision is hidden in your journal's settings, and therefore invisible to us.

Becuase I shared the question in the first place, and got some nice responses to it, it would seem churlish not to then say what my decision was.
