So will you buy all three versions on DVD, or just wait for the full version?

Besides Tales of the Black Freighter, what are they doing with the various texts that appear at the end of the first 11 chapters, like the excerpts from Behind the Mask and the Veidt Corporation memos? (I like the irony of all the merchandising that is appearing in Previews at the moment in this regard.)

Behind The Mask will also be made into a tv documentary. The rest of it - I don't know.

And I'll be seeting it at the cinema, then waiting for the ubercomplete Director's Cut.

It will be interesting to see how they maneuvre along the line between being for the fans and for the general audience, though I suppose they have the advantage of a relatively restricted universe rather than the typical comic book canon/non-canon/alternate chronology and universe stuff.


This said, one of the things that put me off the second and third Matrix films was the sense that you were supposed to buy into also watching the animated series and playing the computer games etc to get the full story. Though this time, since I already know the full story from the comic, maybe that won't be such an issue.

Well, from what I've read so far they're being simultaneously incredibly faithful (it's set in the 80s, and the attention to badckground detail is amazing) and unfaithful (massive spoilers, so you'll have to googling yourself if you're interested).

I'm planning to see it at the GSC IMAX on release day.

Interested to know what they're cutting for the theatrical run: I'm guessing that a lot of the character back story will get trimmed. Like the stuff with the psychiatrist in the "The Abyss Gazes Also" chapter.
