"Women are the most common pain sufferers" Although I'm sure he means this because of childbirth and f#*$^ing cramps, there's something really melancholy-matter-of-fact about this statement. Like, being a woman is rubbish but ho hum what you gonna do let's send some men to the moon instead.

I know that is not the point of the very interesting article.

The Web Navigation one is right on. When my mom uses her browser at home, and when she enters something in the address bar, I don't think she can tell the difference between when she enters a valid address which brings up the page she is looking for, versus when she enters in invalid one which results in a search page being brought up with the possible results.

Just a few days ago she phoned me from her friends house, because she wasn't able to get to her yahoo mail. I told her to enter "mail.yahoo.com" in the address bar, and she asked "where? In Yahoo or Google?", because her friend has both those search bars installed. I had her search in vain for the address bar... then I thought that perhaps the settings were set to not show it. So I told her to click on 'View' in the menu bar. However, the menu bar was not showing.... Then I was able to have her change the setting so that the menu bar would show up, but she didn't find any option for displaying the address bar (still don't understand that one). So I told her to open the Start - Run window, and type the URL in there. The first time, that worked and opened the page, but it was her friend's email account because he doesn't have it log him out. So I had her log out, then use the Run window again, but then she got some DNS error. So I gave up.

5 minutes later she called me back and said that they had finally found the address bar (somewhere). And that it didn't say "address" next to it like on mine, but it did have the green Go button.
