Fun and games with technology
Jun. 4th, 2008 10:02 pmI've just got a HomePlug installation set up in my flat. Fed up with the dodgy wifi with my thick walls, I plugged in a couple of boxes that pass network signals over the power cables, and entered a password. Bingo - massively faster, totally reliable, network connections inside my flat.
Win!
In other news, I've finally got around to tweaking the delicious->lj script so that it takes into account the time zome difference between me and my hosting server (5 hours). Back when I first tried it they kept getting bounced as backdated posts, but with a little PHP fun (and getting my providers to upgrade me from PHP4 to 5) it should all work nicely. I guess we'll find out at 9am tomorrow, when it should all kick into action...

Date: 2008-06-05 01:16 pm (UTC)Of course, that transfer speed might be down to a bunch of other factors. I'll need to get a long ethernet cable hooked up at some point to see what a direction connection is like...
