So they've made a move if DragonLance. I can understand that, even if I can't see myself wanting to see it.

But why on earth has it been made using a mixture of 80's style He-Man-esque animation and early 90's Reboot-quality CGI???

There really is no excuse.

Well, there's no accounting for taste...

...after all, people paid good money for the thing in the first place.

"Coming soon to DVD" it says. Hah. Straight to DVD. Clearly a quality movie.

Traditionally, films with dragons have really crap special effects. Maybe they are carrying on that tradition to the inglorious extreme.

I was concerned about the youtube commenter who suggested Paramount were "wiping their ass with the mona lisa" - I really hope he wasn't implying that the Dragonlance books were great masterpieces of literature.

Because D&D movies have to be awful?

I feel...violated, somehow. Not that I'm implying the books are great masterpieces of literature, but...still. Really. Good god.

Oh dear. Ogh dearier, dearie, dear. *shakes head*

Although I'm such a fangirl that I know that in six months time I'll be standing in the queue in HMV waiting to hand over my hard-earned cash for this travesty...

Gaaaahhhhh...

And that's why I made BloodSpell the way I did.

Hmm. I have an evil thought. It wouldn't be very hard to use the BloodSpell tech to make a version of Dragonlance myself - particularly given that Dragonlance Adventures, the huge mod, would be very willing to help.

Maybe we should knock out the first chapter or so to show them how it's done...
