I'm intrigued, but not expecting a work of staggering genius. I liked Donnie Darko as a mood piece, but wasn't blown away by it as everyone else seemed to be.

this I know without youtube trawling (and mainly from getting Empire) - but it got really panned at Cannes last year - like totally panned as incoherent- and he's spent last year re-cutting. It sounds intriguing, even so. Post apocalptyic musical metaphysical thriller with Buffy as a porn star married to The Rock. Whats not to like?

That was a good 18 months ago, before a lot of recutting and sorting out. It may well now be less of a mess.

Yes, thank you. And I don't care what the director says about it actually being a science fiction movie, to me it will always be a peek into a schizophrenic's head.

I'm fairly sure that there are chunks of the film seen from third person perspectives that only make sense if there's time travel going on.
