"That's funny, I haven't done anything recently that could cause a urinary tract infection."
"And anyway, I don't have any kind of itching/burning sensation."
"And my kidneys don't hurt, so they're probably not bleeding."
"And I've had plenty of fluids today."
"Aaaah, beetroot, that'll be it."

There's nothing worse than the terror of forgetting you ate beetroot the day before

Only thing worse is when you eat asparagus and think that aliens have abducted you in the night and filled you with green goo.

Maybe that is just me...

:-) Funny, beetroot doesn't have that effect on me. I must break the pigment down somehow (mutant that I am).

IIRC, the pigment that makes beetroot purply red is a different one to that which makes most other veg/fruit purlply red...

Wait, beetroot has that effect? Seriously? This could explain some confusion I was having. Is it the actual beetroot, or the vinegar, or what? Or should I just Google it? :)

Silly [livejournal.com profile] surliminal - beetroot is an edible root, not a legume.

it's the pigment. It comes through in most folk's urine and stool, making it red-tinged.

for more fun with pee - excess B vits turn it 'nuclear green' :-) :-)

It's not just you. Asparagus and beetroot in one day, however, is enough to make you think you're on several powerful hallucinogens...
