Wellll...important and important... I really want to be able to read "Deathly hallows" before I run into spoilers...I want to see the new film quite a lot...
compared to stuff like my family and health etc? not really.
Exactly where I am. Well, not the film so much (I just finished rereading #5), but on the 'I am only buying it at midnight to read it before I am spoiled but it isn't REALLY important', definitely a 3.
This is an interesting psychological experiment to find out whether or not your readers trust you not to be an asshat....
I was skimming down my Friends list, saw the photo of a printed page, went "AIEEEEEEE!!!" and flicked forwards as fast as I could before my eyes could catch the text. Then I sat and debated with myself for a second whether you would _really_ post a spoiler, and decided that you wouldn't. So I risked reading the page. :-)
I figured that some people would do it. And I was half tempted to mark the post as "contains no spoilers" - but decided that most people would work it out for themselves :->
I'm interested in reading books 5-7 and will probably set about picking them up sometime in the near future, finances permitting. I'm just trying to decide if I want to reread 1-4 before doing so (I haven't read any HP books since before 5 was even out). Also, I will be irritated if I'm subjected to any more spoilers.
But I wouldn't actually call it important, and there are books I'm anticipating far more than the HP books (I'm still debating over whether I should order the 6th Malazan book from someone who carries UK books or just wait for it to be released here). Anyway, I figured "meh, I'll read it someday" would be a 1, so I went for a 2.
It's partly nostalgia. I read the HP books at a weird time in my life and they led me to make friends who at the time I badly needed, and still deeply treasure. So I'm fond of them for that.
I'd like to read the last book, since I've read all the others. I imagine I'll run into spoilers. Generally "OMG YOU MUST NEVER TELL ME SPOILER!" type people suddenly start being the ones giving out spoilers as soon as whatever they're protecting themselves against is actually released.
However, the rest of the Harry Potter books are hardly SO TWISTY AND TURNY NO MAN CAN PREDICT THE CLEVER PLOT, even if I do rather like them. I don't care about them enough to get pissed off if I do get spoilers, though I'd prefer not to. However I can also make some fairly good guesses as to what'll happen. Also, check your email, idiot.
Actually, I lost the setting about two years ago and never bothered to turn it back on again, because people seemed to have mostly stopped cutting anything other than spoilers :->
I picked "Eh, Harry who?" for my opinion on the book itself (it's a children's book, generally written in an okay kind of way, with mindbogglingly stupid and insulting to the intelligence names on *everything*, from characters to spells to places and back again. Thumbs down, store it next to the Scott Card, next?) - but I've got a really big hate on for the FANS, and that hate only burns stronger as time passes and they get shriller and shriller.
I'll buy the book and read it soon, because I know that half my bloody friends list will talk about it, and I have the first 6. I cracked and bought Half Blood Prince in hardback for the same reason.

So a fairly hyped up 3 for me.

I mark myself as a 4.

Not that you needed to know my reasoning...
