Interesting that the most recent event on the list (2002) is actually behind the events of 1997 and 1989 in people's memories!

Strictly speaking, both "Love" and the three Anthology albums count as new Beatles albums (in the sense that there was new stuff on them - certainly when it comes to Anthology 1, which had Free as a Bird on it).

Not only do i remember Blair getting voted in, I can tell you exactly where I was: May 2nd 1997. I watched the election results rolling in all night on the TV in the Student Accomodation accross the city from where I now live, while on my exchange Semester away from Stirling.

I remember laughing very hard aas Malcolm Rifkind lost his Stirling seat after shifting the boundries to remove the Uni from his constituency...as if Stirling students ever voted for ANYTHING...

And I was drinking those moments when the darkness hit me, and the void would be calling. I did so in the MacBob, with a bunch of Red Lounge types down the front the only ones who realised that the Walrus (shudders at the memory) and I were not in fact heckling.

Do the Sisters release new albums (by the way, speaking of the sisters, it reminded me - a couple of years ago I mentioned a version of "Comfortably numb" they did and you expressd interest...I have a copy on my computer now - would you still be interested?)

I don't remember the moon landing, but I did watch it. As much as a one year old watches anything...

I believe the Berlin Wall went up on my 5th birthday. Which I remember for telling Mark Williams that it was my birthday and him disbelieving me. Oh was I smug when he was shown up later! (spot the instant regression to 5 year old self).

No-one actually told me they'd built a wall to celebrate - though I saw it in situ on a school exchange.
