Some of you don't seem to have got the hang of polls. Here's a short tutorial:

[Poll #965426]

Actually you can multiply select drop downs - so they're more like check boxes!

Gah. Trust LJ not to implement the useful HTML form features...

(and I remembered the multiple select after filling in the poll and couldn't be arsed to do it all again!)

Those are combo-boxes, no?

Checkboxes *always* contain the full spectrum of human existence :>

Looks like there's a marginally significant bias toward assuming that '10' is good and '1' is poor in your 'rate my poll question' - as I type, you have 30 responses to that question, 10 scores 23.3%, 1 scores 13.3%, with a sd of 3 (although N/(sqrt N) = 5.5), so that's a little over 3 (2) sigma :-)

It's a basic lifestyle, worthy of any list compiled by Heinlein :-)

I just assumed you'd be familiar with: http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/math/gaufcn.html#c2

I like to imagine that drop-down boxes are never used in polls because LJers are well aware that they're a usability nightmare.

I also like to imagine that all the people of the world can live together in peace and harmony.

This poll is almost as meta as books on typography. I *heart* it!

text box as in input type equals text or textarea?

select multiple, for if you want to duplicate a whole lot of checkboxes, or normal select for where there are too many options for radio buttons?
