Yesterday, on autopope's journal I said:

If Tony Blair lasts out the next couple of months without a challenge from someone I'll be extremely surprised.

and lo and behold today The Guardian reports:

If Mr Blair does not bow to the pressure backbench MPs intend to publish a letter, possibly by the end of next week, with as many as 75 signatures calling on him to agree the transition or face a formal challenge.

So - any bets on how much longer he lasts?

A lot of people (at least on LJ) feel compelled to do polls regardless of whether they know anything about its content. An extra option for those that don't know what you're talking about is a good idea to give them something to do and keep them entertained!

That, I would think, is their problem.

Generally speaking I find that writing for an audience, rather than for oneself, is a terrible idea.

You don't write a poll for only yourself?

I write polls to get answers to questions that interest/amuse _me_.

And it's great that they choose to fill in my poll. But it's still _my_ poll, for my benefit.

If they want to write their own poll then that's up to them - but I wouldn't tell them how to write it any more than I'd tell them what colour scheme to use on their journal (or what to write in it).
