The Plague!

I have the worst disease on the planet.

Worse than SARS.

Worse than Ebola.

Worse, even,  than Avian Flu.

I have _man_ Flu.

Which is admittedly exactly the same as a cold.

Only in a man.

Which means it contains 300% extra whinging.

I have some night nurse, thankfully, so I intend to veg in front of the sofa with Sense & Sensibility, and then get an early night.

Tomorrow - sorting out my domain so I can get email from my normal address again, looking at curtains, and dealing with plumbers as they finish off the shower.

If, y'know, I survive this vicious case of the sniffles.

I appear to be immune to this.

Man Flu?

I had fluey stuff a few weeks back, still went to work in the nice pouring rain, felt like crap and all the rest. Now it seems I am going to get a nice free flu-jab. A bit late but it's the thought that counts really.
Mope around and feel miserable, that's what I say. Elicit cheap sympathy from those in contact with you and hold out for presents (threaten to cough/sneeze on those that don't capitulate).

I'm not surprised you're not feeling well. I'm starting to get faintly ill just from looking at that icon.

I think there should be a reasearch project set up - one of those kind with lots of electrodes and scary looking equipment as I'm sure we blokes get colds that affect us more than the ladies. Judging by the amount of whinging and helplessness going on of course...

That would explain it.

I've never quite understood this "I have a cold therefore will now spend days off work/in bed and will not get better any faster than someone who doesn't spend all day in bed/off work"

Perhaps my alloys are resistant to your human viruses.

Yes, I've known people to blithely take the day off work and end up sitting around all day in a towel playing computer games, seeming entirely normal but with a slight sniffle.

Imagine.

That is one seriously disturbing icon.

A man with with Sense & Sensibility

Reading or watching? (Or are they just qualities you possess in abundance? ;-)

Judging by what you said about your job at the time, I feel my derision is justified. :-)

How about simply avoiding spreading the plaguecold/flu around to co-workers/fellow students/random-people-on-the-train ?

(I've sometimes thought that if we took colds more seriously and kept people at home at the first sign of symptoms, it would become the "not-really-all-that-common" cold or the "rarely-seen-nowadays" cold rather than the common variety ...)

The point of staying off work is to try not to give it to (too many) other people, by the way....

Get well soon! - at least get non-infectious before Saturday!

Oh! Well, if I was having an Alan Rickman day I would also watch ... Die Hard and then have a really hard time deciding between Truly Madly Deeply and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. What else did you watch?

It was a great performance but on the downside one does then have to sit through an awful lot of Kevin Costner being heroic.
