What's interesting is that 'dog' is most likely to turn up in blogs with the mood 'sad', while 'cat' is most likely to turn up in blogs with the mood 'amused'.

This makes sense to me. Cats are forever doing amusing things like killing birds and small mammals for sport, while dogs inevitably get expensive-to-treat ailments and die.
