At some point Firefox has decided to not allow Flash to navigate pages.  I can do stuff _in_ Flash files, but when they try to navigate to a new page (i.e. from a Flash menu bar) it totally fails to do anything.

Anyone got any ideas?

Will Firefox allow new window spawning? And how about a named-window.close? ie, how about leapfrogging into new windows using a "close the door behind you" technique?

Oh, hang about, you're talking about a frames navigation. My Clever Bugger brain's just gone and hidden. Sorry.

Are you running adblock by any chance?

AFAIR, it does allow you to control various Flash settings. Unfortunately I'm not using it here...

I've also checked the player settings by right clicking on the Flash elements at Macromedia.com. However there's nothing there that affects navigation.

Odd.

No firsthand experience with tht problem, but looked in the support forums and found a few somewhat similar sounding posts. Replies pointed to this thread for a solution which seems to have worked for some. Do you happen to know offhand if you've installed the ActiveX plugin for Firefox?

Some other people seem to have had Quicktime and Flash plugin related weirdness, but they mention seeing broken Quicktime images on Flash pages which you didn't report.

Nah, just overly familiar with the Mozilla support forums. ^.^

Speaking of which, I came upon this recently. Third post explains how to run multiple simultaneous instances of Firefox using separate profiles for each. Works for me, although I had to reboot after setting the environmental variable for it to take.

Flash is a real bugger at times (actionscript is actually fairly great, and the thing itself is fun to develop, just totally useless after that...)

All I can really suggest is reinstalling the player plugin, and possibly allowing popups from that site (I can't remember if it uses javascript methods at all...)
