Napster's charging me £10 a month for unlimited streaming.

MSN Music are willing to charge me 1p per stream.

Do I listen to 1000 songs a month?  That's 30 songs a day.  120 minutes on average.  I'm not sure I do.

Hmmmmmmm.

The answer is simple: don't rent music. Both Napster and MSN Music have a fundamentally flawed business model, which largely revolves around trying to con you into continuously paying them money for something you get for free elsewhere...say, your CD collection. Or internet streaming radio. Or filesharing!

(please note that I was very restrained and did not say iTMS by default)

The answer is simple: don't support Microsoft. They have a predatory business model specifically designed to drive competitors out of business, even if they have to take a tempory loss to do so. By not supporting them, you support innovation and independent companies.
